The Lori Goldstein mantra, “anything goes with everything,” is exactly what this museum is all about. The bright rainbow of colors, the pairing of mismatched things, and the infusion of significant NYC features are present all throughout – but with a very sweet twist.
The Museum of Ice Cream originally made its debut in NYC back in 2016, as a pop up exhibit, selling out of tickets within the first five days of its opening. It returned during the summer of 2018 to the Meatpacking District. And now it’s back again, at 558 Broadway, but only until May 1st.

When you first step into the Museum of Ice Cream, it feels as though you have left New York City and entered into an alternate universe – one that is full of ice cream and sweets. Upon entering, you create your own “ice cream name” and write it on your name tag for people to call you. Your group leader then explains the back story of the Museum of Ice Cream – I quickly learned this museum isn’t just about showcasing various kinds of ice cream.
Maryellis Bunn had a dream of changing the world, one sprinkle at a time. She wanted to create a place in this day and age where people can meet and engage with one another, without using their cell phones. She created an environment that is fun and interactive for people of all ages, ethnicities, gender, etc. to come together and enjoy this immersive experience – she did this all at the age of 24.

“MOIC” doesn’t just stand for “Museum of Ice Cream,” but rather “Movement of Imagination and Creativity.” I believe that this concept ties back perfectly to LOGO, because Lori’s imagination is never limited, and everything is designed with so much creative spirit. Being bold and showing who you truly are is the “Lori lifestyle,” and this is exactly what this museum exemplifies.
Tickets cost $39 for the entire experience of Instagrammable photo opportunities, a sprinkle pool, ice cream to enjoy, and most importantly – meeting new people! If you’re planning to visit the city before May 1st, definitely make it a priority to stop by and experience this museum – it’s MAJOR! Keep scrolling to check out some fun photos I was able to take during my experience there.
